Lose to struggling Basque side

Euro-Alaves forward Joselu Mato condemned Julen Lopetegui's Sevilla to their fifth defeat of the La Liga campaign on Friday, securing a 1-0 home win for the Basque side who climbed out of the relegation zone.

The two sides went into the game at the Mendizorrotza with contrasting form, Sevilla having opened their Champions League campaign with a 4-0 win over Manchester City while Alaves had failed to win any of their opening four La Liga games.

But it was Alaves who started the brighter, with Sevilla failing to register a shot on target in the entire first half, while Alaves had three attempts but failed to make them count.
